Our story

Tassie Sheds has been part of the Tasmanian building landscape since 2014. We started with a simple goal: supply a quality shed at a great price, built in Tasmania. Back then sheds were often purchased from the mainland in set sizes, and getting one customised was difficult and expensive. Tassie Sheds can customise any building in 1mm increments, for the same price as a standard design. Our sheds are built in Tasmania for local conditions, from 100% Australian steel, and engineered for the exact location they will stand on. Being built in Tasmania also means fast turnaround times, and if any issue arises we can rectify it quickly.

Your Tassie Sheds building is manufactured here in Tasmania, in Hobart and Launceston. This gives us statewide coverage and quick delivery times, because your shed is not sitting on a truck crossing Bass Strait before it reaches your block.

What we stand behind

We are ShedSafe accredited, which means our shed designs have been independently reviewed against the National Construction Code by the industry body that accredits shed designs. We build in 100% Australian BlueScope steel, so the structural steel and cladding carry genuine BlueScope warranties of up to 20 years on COLORBOND® cladding and 18 years on ZINCALUME®.

How we work

Our goal is to make designing and getting a quote on a new shed as smooth and as simple as possible.

You can ask for a quote on our website by submitting a written quote request or giving us a call, or you can start in our 3D shed designer. Draw up the building you have in mind, or get close to it, and send it through. There is no live pricing on the designer, and that is deliberate: every shed is custom, so we quote your actual design for your actual site and get a written quote back to you within 24 hours.

Because every building is custom, we adjust height, span and length in increments as fine as 1mm, so your shed suits your property and what you want to use it for. You can pick from the 22 standard COLORBOND® colours to match existing buildings and fences, or mix and match roof, wall and trim to create a whole new colour scheme.

A good value shed is not always about price. Two quotes for the same size shed can differ by thousands, and the gap is usually in what you cannot see: the steel thickness, the wind engineering for your block, and whether the supplier is using genuine Australian steel or leaning on large knee and apex braces to keep their costs down. Wherever we can, we use fully bolted Z-purlins, which delivers a stronger building for your money.

While we do not install directly, we can recommend trusted installers and concreters right across Tasmania if you would like the build handled for you. Once your order is confirmed, delivery is usually four to six weeks.
